Senseable city lab:.::

The real-time city is now real! The increasing deployment of sensors and hand-held electronics in recent years is allowing a new approach to the study of the built environment. The way we describe and understand cities is being radically transformed - alongside the tools we use to design them and impact on their physical structure.

LIVE Singapore! (http://senseable.mit.edu/livesingapore/)
is part of the Future Urban Mobility research initiative
at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology

Future ENEL (http://senseable.mit.edu/enel/)
is a new multi-disciplinary initiative at MIT aimed at researching futuristic sensor technologies applied to the construction and operation life cycle management of energy plants that will contribute to shaping the vision of energy management in the 21st century.

Flyfire (http://senseable.mit.edu/flyfire/)
a project initiated by the SENSEable City Laboratory in collaboration with ARES Lab (Aerospace Robotics and Embedded Systems Laboratory) aims to transform any ordinary space into a highly immersive and interactive display environment.

The CLOUD (http://www.raisethecloud.org/)
proposes an entirely new form of observation deck, connecting visitors to both the whole of London and the whole of the world, immersing them in euphoric gusts of weather and digital data.

New York Talk Exchange (http://senseable.mit.edu/nyte/index.html)
illustrates the global exchange of information in real time by visualizing volumes of long distance telephone and IP (Internet Protocol) data flowing between New York and cities around the world.

Adam Greenfield's Speedbird (blog)

Clean living under difficult circumstances - http://speedbird.wordpress.com/
“Speedbird has been the callsign for aircraft belonging to BOAC and its various predecessors and descendents since 1939.
To me the Speedbird symbolizes many things: the lost glamour of travel, the high Modernist moment in design and architecture, and above all, a time when Western culture still believed in a future.”

Pellet: OWL 2 Reasoner for Java

For applications that need to represent and reason about information using OWL, Pellet is the leading choice for systems where sound-and-complete OWL DL reasoning is essential. Pellet includes support for OWL 2 profiles including OWL 2 EL. It incorporates optimizations for nominals, conjunctive query answering, and incremental reasoning.

The research team Edelweiss aims at offering models, methods and techniques for supporting knowledge management and collaboration in virtual communities interacting with information resources through the Web. This research will result in an ergonomic graph-based and ontology-based platform.
Located at INRIA Sophia Antipolis-Méditerranée, Edelweiss was previously known as Acacia.
